Los Angeles, CA. February 25, 2008 – SideOneDummy Records is proud to announce that The Gaslight Anthem from New Brunswick, NJ have officially joined our roster. The band’s first full-length release for the label will be released by early Fall, produced by Ted Hutt (Chuck Ragan, Flogging Molly, Street Dogs, Bouncing Souls).
The band recently put out a 4-song EP (SENOR AND THE QUEEN, on Sabot Recordings) that has received an immediate and hugely positive response from fans and press alike. Without gimmicks or pretensions, and thanks to relentless touring, exuberant performances and accomplished songwriting, The Gaslight Anthem has generated a striking amount of attention. Their plans for 2008 promise only to increase their visibility, thanks to a packed touring schedule and their full-length release on SideOneDummy later this year.
In 2007, The Gaslight Anthem played over 200 shows with bands such as Against Me!, Bouncing Souls, The Loved Ones and The Draft. Their first full-length, SINK OR SWIM (XOXO Records), was released midyear to widespread acclaim and was included in dozens of “Top 10 of 2007” lists. Critics noticed as well; SPIN.com proclaimed Gaslight to be “Your New Favorite Band”, while Sound As Language wrote “There is nothing that has corrupted The Gaslight Anthem yet. You are listening to something completely real and pure.” Punknews.org said “SINK OR SWIM, the New Jersey-based quartet’s debut LP, is the type of record that most young bands wish they could create to launch their musical career. Easily one of my favorite releases of 2007.”
The Gaslight Anthem just completed a tour this month with The Loved Ones, and are set to play the Shirts For A Cure, Alternative Press and SideOneDummy/Monster parties at SXSW in Austin, TX this March, just before they head into the studio to record. The band will also be featured in Alternative Press’ “Top 100 Bands To Watch in 2008” issue, due out on newsstands shortly, and have just confirmed a handful of dates with the Bouncing Souls and Tim Barry later this Spring. Gaslight is also confirmed for a string of Warped Tour shows, as well as headline tours in both Europe and Australia, this coming Summer.
