Daily Express: As JUNKIE Pete Doherty makes yet another drugs-related court appearance, former punk rebel John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, has made an impassioned plea against the glamorisation of drugs by recalling how they destroyed his former Sex Pistols bandmate Sid Vicious.
Lydon, 50, who now “despises” drugs, says that Vicious who died of an overdose in 1979 aged 21 while on bail for the murder of his girlfriend Nancy Spungen the previous year was drawn into taking heroin because he thought it would make him seem more adult and sophisticated.
