is a good local(?) band from Rochester (AKA Rockchester, Crapchester). They’ve played with the likes of No Motiv, Midtown, and The Stereo. They sound very much like the poppier side of Strung Out. Their live show is really good, although they only play on weekends these days… Ok now that I’ve got the plugging out of the way, the self-titled Cd by DF23 is pretty good. The production
is right on (except for a few tracks which were obviously recorded at a different studio). The guitars and drums are tight and the vocals are good too. Some of the lyrical content isn’t so great, but hey this is pop-punk. Some of the highlights of the Cd are
“Striking Out”, “One Call”, and “Frankly”. This disc definitely gets better with time as well. Overall its really worth the measly $10. Upstate represent.
