The first song is an interesting overlay of Tindersticks-ish vocals over breezy lounge music, creating a sinister sound the press kit calls “tropical goth.” Unfortunately, the creativity ends with that song and the rest of the album is a straight-up borefest of piano-heavy sadsackery. Disappointing.
Bottom Line: They need a hug.
