Gregg Porter plays quaint and mellow county folk that for some reason reminds me of an Adam Sandler Saturday Night Live song. There’s really no accurate reason for that comparison but it just came to mind while I was listening to this.
I’m not a fan of folk music at all, so I really couldn’t get into the mellow acoustic sound of this album. If I were tired, this album would surely put me to sleep. Nothing against the band, but this EP lacked anything of real interest. I do thoroughly enjoy the hand made, screen printed CD case.
Bottom Line: Folk music that would put grass to sleep.
