The Big Bang Theory’s fourth season is out on DVD and wonderful Blu-Ray! I couldn’t be happier since the last 3 seasons have been getting worn out over the summer time. My wife and I just can’t get enough of Sheldon, Leonard and the rest of the group.

The third season ended with Sheldon meeting a woman version of himself, Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik). Not much of a cliffhanger but was still entertaining to say the least. The fourth season of The Big Bang Theory begins with Penny discovering that Sheldon sort of has a girlfriend, but not really. Amy and Sheldon have weird, asexual relationship but Penny suggests they go on a date which turns out the way you would think it does. The other part of the episode is about Howard using a robotic arm to masturbate to, and the arm gets stuck on..you know. The season explores what happens when Sheldon meets someone just like him and slightly shows us how a relationship would be like. The awkwardness of Penny and Leonard gets even worse because the two still like each other, but just aren’t together. They still hang out with each other, until the Yoko Ono of the series shows up, Raj’s sister Priya (Aarti Mann). Leonard and Priya begin having a serious relationship and Priya monkey wrenches the whole Penny and Leonard getting back together thing for awhile.. Besides Leonard, Sheldon and Penny; Howard and Bernadette take the next step into their relationship and Raj is still Raj and can’t talk to women. Something happens in the finale that will most likely makes things even more awkward between Leonard, Penny and now Raj.

The fourth season was just as good as other seasons, except for the fact that something felt different towards the end. I think it was the fact that Priya was there and just ruining all the fun. It’s not the actress’ fault or anything, just the character and spoiling a good time for the characters and the viewers as well. But with that said, the season was still laugh out loud funny! Seeing Sheldon in a relationship (somewhat) with Amy Farrah Fowler was amusing and I’m curious to see how that develops. Amy clearly starts to break out of her shell with Sheldon eventually and wants something more I think. I also love that we get a female side of things now that Penny has some friends besides the guys. The addition of Melissa Rauch full-time is great because her character is fun, but also she’s really cute so that helps too.

In the beginning of the season, Kaley Cuoco wasn’t in two episodes because of a horse riding accident, but it just felt like she wasn’t on the show that much this season. Or maybe it just felt that way with the addition of Priya and how she didn’t want her and Leonard talking to each other. But with that said, this season was just as strong as any other Big Bang Theory season. I liked the episode where Sheldon tries to find new friends and ends up bringing over Barry Kripke, Stuart, Zack. Kripke used to be a character I hated but find his character funny now. I also like Zack being on the show because there’s not enough stupid people on the show.

The Blu-Ray offers a bunch of extras like cast interviews, Barenaked Ladies theme song music video, a 10 minute gag reel and Big Bang Theory Live (live show taping). The Gag reel was fun to see as always, and I liked the cast interviews as well. I used to dread the Barenaked Ladies theme song but like the song now so it was cool to see the music video & behind the scenes look of the video.

Overall, The Big Bang Theory continues to be one of my favorite comedies on TV right now and the fourth season doesn’t disappoint at all!
