Bryce Dallas Howard joins cast of Twilight: Eclipse

news_0709_brycedallashoward
At least a decent actor will be in the Twilight saga now, not like I’ll still watch the movies.. Bryce Dallas Howard, Ron Howard’s daughter, will be in the 3rd installment of the Twilight Saga. Recently, Howard was in Terminator: Salvation and other memorable roles include Spiderman 3, The Village, and Lady in the Water. She will be replacing Rachelle Lefevre as the character of Victoria in Twilight.

MacGruber coming to the big screen!

news_0709_macgruber
I knew it was only a matter of time that Will Forte’s MacGyver spoof MacGruber would be turned into a movie! It’s probably the funniest sketch on SNL these days. I seriously can’t wait for this movie because I think it’s going to be a smash hit! That is, if the script and acting is up to par. I mean, anything can be better than Ladies Man and Superstar. I just hope they can make this movie into something that’s consistently funny, because these skits are so short. As far as casting is concerned, no word yet about Richard Dean Anderson making an appearance. Kristen Wiig will reprise her role as Vicki, MacGruber’s sidekick. Val Kilmer and Ryan Phillipe are in talks to star in the movie as well. Filming starts up next month!

Jackie Earle Hale is Freddie Krueger

news_0409_jackieearlhaley
Jackie Earle Hale (Bad News Bears, Watchmen) has been picked to star as the legendary villain in New Line’s re-do, re-imagined, remake, etc. of ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street.’ Well I couldn’t think of a more creepier looking actor to play Freddie. Maybe they don’t need to use much makeup?

Tom Hanks playing Major Matt Mason?

news_0309_mattmason
Variety reports that Tom Hanks & Playtone will develop a live-action movie based on the popular vintage toy “Matt Mason” from Mattel. Isn’t Tom sick of playing toys yet? Is he going to sign up for Stretch Armstrong next? Anyway, Graham Yost is set to write the script for Universal, who’s releasing the film. I can never turn down a Tom Hanks movie, so I’ll be sure to see this one when its released.

Martin Lawrence and Tracy Morgan join cast of Death at a Funeral remake

news_0309_lawrencemorgan
The unnecessary remake of “Death at a Funeral” has its cast set. Martin Lawrence and Tracy Morgan are joining the Chris Rock comedy as they “re-imagine” Frank Oz’s movie, which just came out in 2007. You’d think they remake a movie that didn’t come out 2 years ago? Even adding a black spin to it just means they still ran out of movie ideas. Why not do a black Star Wars or something?

What a surprise to see that Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea has been added to the cast of the untitled Robin Hood movie that Ridley Scott is directing. He will be playing one of the Merry Men, Allan A’Dayle. Russell Crowe is starring in the movie so I guess it shouldn’t be such a shock since the two are friends and both have worked on each others albums. Cate Blanchett is also set to star and the movie is projected to come out in 2010.
