CRACKER AND CAMPER VAN BEETHOVEN JOIN FORCES ONSTAGE AS THEY CLOSE OUT 2007 WITH A STRING OF WEST COAST DATES

After 17 Years, 8 Albums, 4 Gold Records, 21 Countries, 8 Bass Players and, more recently, a successful run through the nation’s Heartland as part of their fall Tornado Alley Tour, Cracker will be closing out the year with a string of dates with co-founder David Lowery’s first alternative rock band Camper Van Beethoven.

The two bands will hook up for two consecutive nights in San Francisco starting on December 27th, before heading to Petaluma and Solana Beach, CA and concluding with a New Year’s Eve blow-out in Portland, OR.

Cracker, featuring co-founders David Lowery (vocals/ guitar) and Johnny Hickman (lead guitar / vocals), along with bassist Sal Maida (Roxy Music / Sparks / Runaways) and drummer Frank Funaro (The Dictators / Joey Ramone / Del Lords), are out in support of their critically-acclaimed Greenland album, while Camper Van Beethoven will be reforming to run through alternative rock favorites that span from their 1985 debut Telephone Free Landslide Victory (including their quintessential early alt-hit “Take The Skinheads Bowling”) to their more recent 2004 effort New Roman Times. CVB’s line-up will consist of Lowery (vocals / guitar) and original bandmates Greg Lisher (lead guitar), Jonathan Segel (violin / guitar) and Victor Krummenacher (bass), along with Cracker’s Funaro on drums,

Just after Cracker ring in the new year in Portland, the band’s two principle songwriters and co-founders, David Lowery & Johnny Hickman, will also be working on new material for a forthcoming Cracker album due in 2008.
