On June 12th the Hunt Begins for the Deadliest DVD and Blu-ray Disc in the Jungle. “Prison Break’s” Dominic Purcell Pursues
a 1-Ton Serial Killer Crocodile In a Tale Based on True Events

Primevalbased on the true tales of an African killer croc slithers onto DVD and Blu-ray Disc June 12th from Hollywood Pictures Home Entertainment. A pulse-throbbing action flick, Primeval follows the African adventures of a disgraced TV reporter played by Dominic Purcell (“Prison Break”), who treks to the Dark Continent with hopes of launching a career comeback on the scaly back of Gustave, a 20-foot crocodile with 300 human kills on his resume. Their difficult task turns insurmountable when they walk into the bull’s-eye of a local dictator.

Primeval’s Gustave (the croc) is CGI, but Purcell gets up close and personal with a topnotch human cast, including Orlando Jones (“Drumline”) as his wiseacre cameraman, fellow newsie Brooke Langton (“The Benchwarmers”) and as an ill-tempered local tour guide, the well-known Jurgen Prochnow (“Da Vinci Code,” “Das Boot”).

Primeval’s DVD and Blu-ray Disc is full of unnerving bonus creatures, including “Croc-umentary: Bringing Gustave to Life,” lost Primeval footage, deleted scenes with an optional commentary by director Michael Katleman and optional feature-length commentary with Katleman and actor Orlando Jones. Also included exclusively on the Blu-ray Disc is Movie Showcase, which high-lights the film’s most impressive high definition picture and sound scenes.

Primeval was co-written by scribes John Brancato and Michael Ferris, the writing team who collaborated on such thrillers as “Terminator 3,” “The Game,” and “The Net,” and was directed by Michael Katleman (“Smallville,” “Gilmore Girls”).
