Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

No strangers to the road, Jay Northington and Gabe Lindeman (both of the now defunct Tsunami Bomb) formed the energetic sing along punk rock act Nothington on a simple idea: to get back to their roots. They’re described as sounding as if “Tom Waits, Mike Ness, HWM, and Leatherface somehow mothered a child together.”

Both Jay and Gabe have toured internationally and have been refining the sound and energy that have influenced them along the way. Harnessing Jay’s southern country and blues roots with such powerful influences as Leatherface, Against Me and Hot Water Music, Nothington is San Francisco’s up and coming punk band . A true testimony of the DIY punk spirit of the band, Jay and Gabe recorded, on their own dime, a handful of songs for what was intended to be a self released EP and posted them on the popular social networking site, Myspace (!). The feedback was overwhelming and with the addition of two members, guitarist Chris Matulich (Enemy You) and bass player Mike Hicks (Time Spent Driving) on board, the foursome have formed a powerful quartet rich in experience and diversity in song writing style. For all these veteran road dogs, there is no looking back!

Lead singer, Jay had this to say:
“We are extremely excited about working with BYO and company. We are fans of the label and the bands on it. They have been nothing but
great through the whole process and we look forward to a happy and prosperous relationship.”

The choice in welcoming Nothington to the BYO family was fairly obvious as their music, even in raw demo form showed rich promise. They will record their full length debut ALL INin August and is set for an early 2007 release. With a new band, solid songs, and the call of the road, the boys are unstoppable!

Nothington will be playing a show at 924 Gilman in Berkeley, CA on August 25th and more tour plans will be announced soon.
