Aspen It Is tries to be all things, and shockingly, they almost pull it off!

The first few minutes of the album is a lovely cascade of lofi indie, which flows in interesting ways into indie-pop and emo rock, sometimes dipping into melodic post-punk and (less successfully) screamo.

By the middle of the album, you’re fairly certain you’ve got an emo-pop band on your hands, but by then you don’t mind as much. This is a band that can stretch themselves in a lot of directions, but naturally and cohesively.

Bottom Line: I’ventive indie/emo/pop/whatever.
