Gee, how can a band named Dick Taut and the Ripcords be bad, you ask? Let me count the ways: 15. That’s the number of retarded tracks on this thing. Now, I’m a PC kind of guy, so I don’t throw the word “retarded” around loosely, but this music is retarded. And it’s the worst kind of retarded – made by people who KNOW it’s retarded, but think it’s funny.

I applaud them for keeping their songs under 90 seconds, but even their briefest snippets of retardosity are small eternities of awfulness. I never thought I’d say this, but their best songs are when they play painfully bad white boy 70s funk with no sense of production. The other 13 songs are even worse. Mostly stupid voices over a bed of folk, radio tuner feedback, or old-timey banjo, all of it inept and unfunny to the point of frustrating pointlessness.

It’s a shame because humor is great when it’s mixed with talent, and their song titled “Wayne Gretzky Murdered My Sister” would be awesome if the song was worth listening to and not just a thrown-together pile of retarded dogshit.

I try not to wish bad on anyone, but the waste of resources that went into this CD should be criminal. Kids, if you’re retarded and/or talentless, please minimize your footprint on this fragile world. We have enough garbage already.
