Final release from this punk-goes-country supergroup. If you’re not familiar, Drag the River is made up of punkers like JJ Nobody, Dave Barker of Pinhead Circus, and some dudes from ALL and Hot Rod Circuit, but they play alt-country and folk.

Now, country/folk isn’t my genre of choice, but I give Drag the River props for approaching it in a sincere and often traditional way. Rare among those connected in the punk scene, these guys genuinely like country music and aren’t smirkingly goofing on it, like a Me First gimmick or some dopey Fearless Records comp.

That said, their stuff never really stood out for me and this album is no exception. Maybe it’s too quiet or slow or twangy, but it’s not my thing.
