Mirror: Inspired by punk and folk, and named after a radical 17th-Century collective, the Levellers became synonymous with a huge underground anti-authority movement, supporting green issues and fighting the Criminal Justice Bill.
Formed 20 years ago in Brighton, singer-guitarist Mark Chadwick and fiddle player Jon Sevink were two of the six original members who dared to be different. Tonight, after treating The Ticket to copious pints of Guinness in a north London boozer, Mark and Jon will join the still intact six-piece, helping pal Rev Hammer stage his magnificent 24-piece folk-rock/soul opera, Freeborn John.
