Scars of Life releases What We Reflect on August 9 through Rock Ridge Music. From the fiery “Alone Inside” and brooding “Lost Years” to the reflective “Away From Me,” this soulful melodic metal band emphasizes depth in musical style and earnest lyrics.

Formed in late 2000 and calling South Florida home, the quintet is currently taking the music scene by storm. Scars of Life’s songs have repeatedly reached #1 on the nu-metal and metal charts on mp3.com, with over 285,000 downloads. They have shared the stage with Coal Chamber, Drowning Pool,Taproot, and Florida’s own Nonpoint, Poison The Well, Endo, Darwin’s Waiting Room, and Crossbreed.

Scars of Life have a unique relationship with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC.TV). Over the last few years, UFC has licensed Scars of Life songs for use in pay-per-views, commercials, compilation CDs, soundtracks, video games and other UFC related media. GHS Strings and Just Promotions also endorse the band.

In January 2002, Scars of Life’s debut CD, Mute was self-released to
critical acclaim. The initial response was more than encouraging, with several great reviews by regional press as well as an impressive amount of airplay on local radio stations. Scars Of Life was selected as South Florida’s #1 unsigned band for 2002 by 94.9 WZTA in Ft. Lauderdale.

During the summer of 2002, Scars of Life also had the distinct honor of being picked by Inside Sessions (a subsidiary of Universal Music) to play the Augusta, Georgia stop of the Locobazooka Tour with other great acts such as Sevendust, Filter, Earshot, Mushroomhead, Audiovent, Dry Cell, Dragpipe,and Mad at Gravity.

In July 2002, Scars of Life entered the studio again with the almighty Jeremy Staska at Studio 13. Scars of Life release this recording session as a CD, simply titled 2002 Demo. The sold out record release party was held at the Culture Room (700 person capacity) in Ft. Lauderdale that September.

In October of 2002, Scars of Life won 2nd Place in the nation-wide Inside Sessions Recording Session Contest, beating out over 5000 bands around the world.
