The Mystechs cover a different style with each album, which would be an interesting and broad-minded experiment if they weren’t so unbelievably bad.

“Escape from Planet Love” is their funk/old-school hip-hop album. There are a couple of decent elements – the female vox are pretty good and sometimes the synth/tinned music isn’t bad. When both are combined, you get a halfway decent dance song like “Orgasmatron.”

But most of the album is cringe-worthy. It reminds me of when Flight of the Conchords does a really bad 70s-style funk tune, only FOTC are amusing and endearing whereas Mystechs are shlocky, gimmicky, and lame.
