Schema is a synthesis of Hovercraft with Mary Hansen of Stereolab. And as Buckminister Fuller used to say of synthesis, the sum of all parts is greater than the whole. And so it is true here.

Schema is atmospheric and multi-textured, both soothing and disturbing, and completely engrossing. Listening to these instrumentals (Hansen’s voice is more of an instrument here than a way of dispensing lyrics) is like watching a psychedelically futuristic building being constructed.

As good as space rock/math rock gets.
