Tiny Machines is a band I keep hearing about and I’m sure you’ll hear about sooner or later. You’ll probably see them popping up around all the NY area, playing various shows. The reason why I hear about them so much is because my buddy is the drummer of the band. It’s kind of hard to be critical of your friend’s band, but I usually tell him what I think anyway so I don’t think he’ll mind this review.
In all honesty, Tiny Machines aren’t that bad! I like these guys a lot better than Tom’s last band, Post Bliss. Post Bliss just wasn’t my style but at least Tiny Machines have a slight punk sound to them. The singing can get whiny at times and but their overall sound is promising. I think if the band keeps at this, I can see them getting better & better with each album they release. I also think Tiny Machines will probably be more suited as a live band than a studio album band. But perhaps if the band can get popular enough, and get some money from a label; they can make a well-produced pop punk album. I’m looking forward to the next album.
Bottom Line: Impressive debut album from this NY pop punk band
Notable Tracks: Pushover, Ivy Hill, Conscious
