Help Finance Zach Braff’s Follow-Up To Garden State
Fans of actor/director/writer Zach Braff, Garden State and Scrubs might want to check this out and support Zach make his next movie. He wrote a screenplay for Wish I Was Here with his brother, but wants more control over the final cut, casting, etc. so he’s asking fans of his to help him out through Kickstarter. There’s lots of things to pledge for, and he’s looking to get 2 million in 30 days. Considering he’s almost half way there already, I’d say he’s going to succeed!

Kate Winslet joins the cast of Divergent
Kate Winslet is set to star as Jeanine Matthews in Summit Entertainment’s futuristic action adventure Divergent. She joins the cast of Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Jai Courtney, Zoë Kravitz, Ansel Elgort and Maggie Q. Hopefully this turns out well and isn’t some Twilight type movie because the movie has an interesting premise. Divergent is coming to theaters March 21, 2014!

Anchorman 2 has the potential to become the greatest comedy of all-time! Harrison Ford and John C. Reilly are joining the already impressive cast of Anchorman 2! Ford played an anchor in Morning Glory so he’s got that going for him, plus the fact that he’s Harrison Fucking Ford! John C. Reilly is just awesome in anything and can’t wait to see what parts these guys will be playing. That is, if John C. Reilly is really in the movie but I would be surprised if he isn’t in the movie.

J.J. Abrams directing Star Wars: Episode VII!?!
Well The Wrap certainly broke the biggest movie news story this year. Star Trek director J.J. Abrams is set to direct the newest Star Wars movie, episode VII! I’m shocked in this news considering Abrams himself said he wouldn’t take the job if offered, because he was such a fan. I’m really happy he’s the director because he was my first choice because I love his Star Trek movie so much. The only thing I hope he doesn’t do is add all this unnecessary lens flair. But one thing is probably certain, that composer Michael Giacchino will be the composer to succeed John Williams because sadly, I doubt John Williams will want/can do it in 2015. Unless this news comes out false, I’m a happy geek!

Skyfall hits Blu-ray & DVD on February 12
One of the best James Bond movies, Skyfall, will be out on Blu-Ray and DVD February 12th from MGM/Sony/Fox. It will be out on Digital HD on February 5th. I thought Skyfall was great and can’t wait to see it again on Blu-Ray. I’m hoping there is some sort of trilogy set that will be released too since I don’t own any of the other Bond movies on Blu-Ray.

The 2013 Oscar Nominations (a.k.a. The Harvey Weinstein Awards) announced.
The 2013 Oscars Nominations were announced early this morning by host Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone. It was an amusing announcement, which should prove for a fun Oscar night. I’m surprised by some of the nominations and then I’m not because usually Harvey Weinstein is involved. The Oscars are fun to watch but most of the time it’s just a bunch of bullshit because it’s basically whoever campaigned the hardest.

Willow coming to Blu-Ray on March 12th
“I DON’T love her! She kicked me in the face!” Willow is just a fun fantasy adventure by Ron Howard and George Lucas. I used to watch Willow all the time and still from time to time. I love Val Kilmer’s character and could watch another movie just based on that character. It certainly will be nice to watch the movie on Blu-Ray and this has been one of the releases I was looking forward to watching on there. Read the press release and see the trailer down below.
