I’ve added the sale links below to the East Coast area shows:

RIP: Andrew Koenig (Boner from ‘Growing Pains’)

Boner is gone! Actor Andrew Koenig has apparently committed suicide, which was confirmed by his parents tonight during a press conference. The actor has been missing since February 14th, and his body was found in Vancouver. You know Andrew as Richard ‘Boner’ Stabone, from Growing Pains, as Mike Sever’s good friend. I still remember the emotional goodbye of his character, when he joined the military. Andrew wasn’t really in a lot of things besides G.I. Joe cartoons, 21 Jump Street episode and various minor roles. His Dad, Walter Koenig, was Chekov from Star Trek TV series and movies.

Band of Horses, Aquabats, Weezer, Sarah Silverman appearing on Yo Gabba Gabba!

A new season of Yo Gabba Gabba (that trippy weird kids show co-created by the Bat Commander of the Aquabats) commences within a week! There are a load of people appearing on the show (for some reason) and some of them include: Band of Horses, The Aquabats, Anthony Bourdain, Of Montreal, Mos Def, Devo, Sarah Silverman, and Weird Al Yankovic. I’m curious to see what these people will be doing. I’m sure YouTube will have clips of their embarrassment.

Adult Swim picks up 2 more seasons of Robot Chicken

Robot Chicken is sticking around for another 2 season at Adult Swim/Cartoon Network. I haven’t seen the series lately but I guess it’s still funny and one of the highest original series on Adult Swim. The network ordered a total of 40 episodes, so that’s a lot more Robot Chicken! I guess I need to watch the series again, or at least see them on DVD where it’s uncensored & funnier. Read the press release after the jump:

Conan O’Brien officially leaving NBC

The funniest late night talk show host, Conan O’Brien, is officially leaving NBC after 2 weeks of settlement talks. Everyone should know all the news by now so no point in recapping it for you. The talks were signed this morning, and Conan’s last show will be Friday night when he has Will Ferrell and Tom Hanks on his show. The two actors were the first guest on Conan’s short-lived Tonight Show which only started back in June. The unfunny Jay Leno will return to the Tonight Show March 1st.

Cinematic Titanic will be riffing “Danger on Tiki Island.” Sounds like a piece of crap, which makes it great for movie riffing!

Flash Forward Volume 1 coming to DVD in February

A trend a lot of the studios are doing now, when shows go on long hiatuses, is to release a volume of the show before the shows returns to the air. Disney / Buena Vista is doing that with Flash Forward, considering the show doesn’t come back until March. Thanks Olympics ya jerks! The DVD will come out February 23rd 2010. But the show has been interesting so far, let’s hope it can sustain the interesting storyline and mysteries. I’m not going to say whether or not the show is going to be a Lost replacement just yet.

The Pacific premieres March 14th, 2010 on HBO

news_1109_thepacific
The anticipated follow-up to Band of Brothers, The Pacific, will premiere on March 14th 2010 on HBO. The series is long in the making but I think the final result will be worth it. The Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg produced mini-series will be 10 episodes, just like Band of Brothers. This time it will focus on the Pacific side of the War, mainly focusing on 3 main characters.

RIP: Mark Ritts (Lester the Rat from Beakman’s World)

news_1209_markritts
Mark Ritts has passed away at the age of 63. He was a writer, producer, director, actor and puppeteer; but he was most known for being the dopey tattoo-armed Lester The Rat on the kid’s science TV show Beakman’s World. I used to watch this show all throughout high school and Mark Ritts’ character was always funny to watch. Nothing like seeing this big guy with tattoos in a rat costume, like he had no choice but to be there. His zany antics will be missed!

The Simpsons Season 20 Blu-ray and DVD out January 12th 2010

pic_simpsons12b
The Simpsons Season 20 DVD and Blu-Ray have been announced for released on January 12th, 2010. Question is, why jump all those other season to release this? I guess since it’s their 20th season, that people might want to see it. This also marks the first time the show is in Hi-Def so that might be the other reason. I just hope they continue their plan to release the other seasons…even though they aren’t as good as the older seasons.
