Hey Stranger is a ska punk band from New York City and Waited Out The Day is their debut album. The debut album features 10 tracks in all. According to the band’s profile, they found each other on Craigslist. So I guess the band consists of tranny hookers, pedophiles, and credit card scamming murderers? No, I’m kidding of course. There’s no pedophiles in the band. Ha!

The band certainly has potential. Don’t let the quality of the album throw you off. It’s not bad but I wonder how well the band would sound if the quality was a lot better? Like a major studio type of production. The singing gets too whiny for my liking at times but I liked some of the tracks from Hey Stranger. Whenever a band has some Army of Darkness quotes in their songs, I have to smile. You can hear that in the track “Pillow Talk.” I have a feeling Hey Stranger sounds better live. That’s the best way to listen to ska in my opinion, is to see the band live. You can listen to the entire album over at Bandcamp.com and see for yourself. I thought some songs were decent but think they could be better.

Bottom Line: NYC Ska Punk band that has potential
Notable Tracks: Disaster, Pillow Talk, Going Under
