Mad Caddies – “Consentual Selections”

Record Label: Fat Wreck Chords
Genre: Ska Punk
Band Link: www.madcaddies.com
Buy on Amazon.com

Mad Caddies are one of my favorite bands on Fat Wreck. They release their albums every few years, but haven’t released a new full-length since 2007’s Keep It Going. Consentual Selections is a greatest hits album that was voted on by the fans. I think that was a great idea because this greatest hits (or favorite songs) album is top notch! But that’s not all folks, there’s also 2 brand new tracks at the end!

Pick a genre of music and I’m sure they have a song about working. Well maybe not classical but you get the idea! In honor of Labor Day weekend, we have compiled 80 songs about working, hating work, slacking off on the job, songs about bosses, trying to find a job, trying to leave a job, etc…Pretty much any song that has to deal with work. Video: The Specials – “Nite Klub” (Late Show With David Letterman)

The Specials performing on Late Show with David Letterman
The Specials stopped by Ed Sullivan Theater to perform on Late Show with David Letterman. The band was originally suppose to play in Central Park last weekend but that was canceled due to Visa issues. That probably explains why Neville wasn’t there with the band. The Specials played “Nite Klub” so check it after the jump:

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones finally played New York City, after all these years of avoiding it. Yes Yes we know the Yankees suck but that doesn’t mean you have to ignore New York guys haha! They have played New Jersey the last 2 years but haven’t played NYC in years. Last night they played a sold out (and quite packed) show at Irving Plaza. The boys from Boston (and all over now) played great and so did the openers (The Flatliners and Teenage Bottlerocket)!

Music Video: The Jolly Boys – “Rehab” (Amy Winehouse Cover)

Jolly Boys Rehab
I just discovered The Jolly Boys earlier on this Summer and fell in love with their music. The Jolly Boys play Mento, which is a roots Jamaican folk music that began before ska and reggae. The Jolly Boys were known for being Errol Flynn’s house band at his parties and now after all these years, the band is making a comeback! Marco on the Bass has a good post about them as well. They have a new album coming out called Great Expectation and have been touring Europe. They do a brilliant cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab”, which you can watch below.
