The first that I’ve ever heard of this local Pittsburgh based band was a few weeks ago at a Supervillains show where twelve people showed up. They were a three-piece that covered some Streetlight Manifesto and Leftover Crack songs. That night was also their first ever real gig. Now they have a new album out…which is available for free on their Bandcamp page!

Keyboardist/vocalist Jim Pedigo of the Florida ska band Magadog has passed away at the age of 50. Magadog might not have been well known as other ska bands but they were one of the pioneers in the Florida ska scene (and on Moon Ska Records). Their song “Pipeline” is one I listened to plenty of times earlier in my ska listening career and I caught the band once or twice during the many Moon Ska / Wetlands’ showcases. Jim’s awesome keyboard playing & vocals will be missed!

Just when you thought the lineup couldn’t have gotten any better, Apple Stomp have added three more bands to the lineup: The Scofflaws, Inspecter 7 and The Fad! The 2 day ska festival also released the lineup for both days! Single day tickets go on sale tomorrow, which I would recommend getting them at Irving Plaza’s box office if you can. More bang for your buck is getting tickets for both days though.
