Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

Do you want to see Steve Perry in drag? No? Well you’re going to watch it anyway! Cherry Poppin Daddies had their latest music video “Huffin Muggles” premiere on OUT magazine but you can watch it down below as well. The video pays homage to filmmaker and author Kenneth Anger, and features drag artist Rhea Della-Vera as well as Steve Perry dressed in drag as “Cherry Perry.”

“Huffin’ Muggles” was a 30’s/40’s euphemism for smoking pot. The lyrics describe an overheard bad-mouthing session between an older more experienced queen and his younger more innocent acolytes while they all enjoy a bit of reefer. A reference to William Blake’s “Songs of Innocence and Experience” in “Huffin’ Muggles” reveals a unique weaving of high and low art references that hints at the more universal, delicate themes at work beneath the hard boiled surface of each Cherry Poppin’ Daddies lyric.
