Get ready for some wild, inbred squid family fun! For the first time, the popular Adult Swim original comedy series Squidbillies will be available on DVD, courtesy of Warner Home Video. The 2-disc set of Squidbillies: Volume One will hit stores October 16th, with a retail price of $29.98 SRP. Along with 20 original episodes from the hit show, the DVD contains an array of special features including original plots, deleted scenes, behind the scenes footage, “How I Make the Damn Show”, and much more!

Adult Swim viewers love this unconventional, yet exciting family of squids, and the numbers prove it. Squidbillies has been an Adult Swim success among Adults 18-34, reaching over 2.0 million viewers in that demo in the first quarter of 2007. Fans can also collect a range of consumer products based on the series including an exclusive T-shirt from Hot Topic and the cast of Squidbillies characters featured in Kid Robot’s Adult Swim Blind Box toy line.

It’s not all drinking, brawling and reckless gunplay for the Squidbillies. Occasionally, they use crossbows. There’s also hate, love, sex, a multinational drywall conglomerate, cockfighting, the penal system and a deep-seated mistrust of authority, all told through the lives of a family of squids left behind when the pre-historic oceans receded from the North Georgia mountains. Early, fresh out of the correctional facility, must try to rehabilitate himself while dealing with the fevered wishes of his ubiquitous bottle of brown liquor. Early fills his sensitive offspring/bastard son Rusty, with all the love and patience he can afford, which is to say, none. Rusty and Early try to build a life with Early’s sister, Lil, a hair stylist/meth lab technician. And when she is not in deep in conversation with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, Granny, the clan’s matriarch, occasionally stops by for a visit.
