Guitarist Frank Agnew Recuperating from Knee Surgery and will be Replaced Temporarily by Fifteen-Year-old Joe Harrison from Punk Band Wrecking Crew; West Coast Dates Not Effected

Los Angeles, Calif., & Irvine, Calif., (July 14, 2005) – The Adolescents, who helped establish the blueprint for Orange County punk rock according to All Music Guide, have announced a line-up a change for their upcoming East Coast dates in support of their new CD O.C. CONFIDENTIAL on Finger Records.

Lead guitarist and original member Frank Agnew is at home recuperating from surgery on his knee after the band played a warm-up gig with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Weezer on July 2nd, 2005 as part of the city of Las Vegas’ centennial celebration in front of 50,000 fans called Vegas Rocks. Agnew will be replaced temporarily by fifteen-year-old by whiz-kid, Joe Harrison from the punk band Wrecking Crew, who is named after one of The Adolescents best-known songs from their eponymous debut release. Additionally, Wrecking Crew were recently signed to Finger Records.

“I spoke with Frank after the show and he told me his knee just didn’t feel right and was in a lot of pain,” said Steve Soto, bassist for The Adolescents. “When Frank went to his doctor following the Vegas gig, he was told him that he would have to have surgery on his knee immediately or he might be risking permanent damage. While this is a major blow to the band, I can’t begin to tell you how lucky we were to find Joe Harrison to replace Frank temporarily. We are looking forward to having a true adolescent join The Adolescents for the East Coast dates and getting old man Agnew out of his wheelchair and on stage for our West Coast dates beginning July 29th in San Diego Street Scene in front of another 50,000 people where he belongs.”

All current tour dates will feature a line-up including Tony Cadena on vocals, Steve Soto on bass, Frank Agnew Jr. on guitar and Derek O’Brien (Social Distortion) on drums. All dates after July 23 are unaffected. The dates affected are:
