Merrell Publishers is pleased to present PANIC ATTACK! Art in the Punk Years, to be released August 2007 in hardcover. PANIC ATTACK! is a powerful visual account of British and American art from the mid-1970s through the mid-1980s, a revolutionary period when both countries were breeding grounds for the subcultures of punk and post-punk. PANIC ATTACK! Art in the Punk Years exposes the vibrant art scene that, alongside the music and fashion of the time, defined the aesthetic and era.

2007 marks the 30th anniversary of the release of The Sex Pistols’ God Save the Queen and its infamous cover design by Jamie Reid. In addition to Reid’s images, artwork by Nan Goldin, Derek Jarman, Basquiat, Keith Haring, Robert Mapplethorpe, Cindy Sherman, and Robert Longo grace the pages of PANIC ATTACK!

Featuring 160 color illustrations of iconic works from 30 leading artists, PANIC ATTACK! examines art which shares many political and social concerns and attitudes.
