Riverboat Gamblers will release the first in a series of 7″ records and digital singles for End Sounds on December 2nd. The single, entitled Dead Roach also features a cover of the Big Boys’ Sound on Sound. If you trust it, you can purchase these 7″ with Bitcoin. If you don’t want to use bitcoin, you can pre-order them here. Or iTunes!

The single was Produced by Grammy Award Winner Stuart Sikes (White Stripes, Rocket From The Crypt, Cat Power, Reigning Sound, Modest Mouse, Jets To Brazil, Cat Power, Loretta Lynn)

Slotted in at #15 on SPIN’s Top 25 Live acts a few years back, Riverboat Gamblers will be playing with Rocket From The Crypt in Austin this weekend for Fun Fun Fun Fest Nites: November 8th at Red 7 with The Brieds, Murder City Devils (DJ Set), 7 Seconds, Iron Reagan, and Breakout. Fun Fun Fun fest is named after a Big Boys song and to tie it in all nicely, Tim Kerr from the Big Boys did the artwork for the Dead Roach 7 inch.

End Sounds and the Riverboat Gamblers both began in North Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Denton area of North Texas over ten years ago and both the label and the band relocated to Austin around the same time. The Riverboat Gamblers are between label deals and want to do a string of small releases to keep new music coming out and surprise people while they work on their next record, expected in 2015.

“Our history with the Big Boys goes back to our first two records produced by Tim Kerr. That band has helped shape us and in a way this series of 7″ singles is a sort of study on the direction we want to take on our next full length. Our close friends and musical cohorts at End Sounds will be delivering the goods, we’re really charged about being part of the label history. We’re also doing something new by introducing people that may not be familiar with Bitcoin to the digital currency through a Bitcoin payment only blue version of the 7″ singles. Texas garage-skate punk and digital currency…a beautiful combination.” – Fadi El-Assad (Guitar, Vocals)
