The Waterboys have begun recording their new album, and the main sessions will take place in London in September, with Mike Scott and Philip Tennant producing. A few tracks have already been recorded, including ‘The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn’, at Findhorn during the Midsummer’s Eve Stramash, and a song recorded in Canada with members of Vancouver band Great Aunt Ida. We have no information on the song selection, except that ‘The Crash Of Angel Wings’ and several other new songs are included. The album, as yet untitled, is projected for a February/March 2007 release, in advance of the band’s 2007 tour.
