The singer of Filter and the DeLeo brothers of Stone Temple Pilots have joined forces to remind us why grunge was so horribly lame.
If you’re a STP fan (and if you’re a fan of this site, I can’t imagine you are), you may just like this. It’s basically 11 tracks of what sounds like Stone Temple Pilots b-material, only with bland, cheesy(ier) vocals.
Any song on this album would be great radio fodder if we still lived in 1995. Since we don’t, this music is too lame to be cool, and too dated to be on the radio. This is about as relevant as Letters to Cleo.
Bottom Line: Emo sucks and all, but that doesn’t mean the world wants grunge again.
