Following up with their release from 2006, Violence Violence; Ceremony is back with a new album on Bridge 9! This gritty hardcore album contains 15 tracks and were recorded with Dan Rathbun at Polymorph Studios (Tragedy, From Ashes Rise, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum).

Dead Moon California (Midnight at Solitude) starts off with a quiet bass introduction for about a minute and then goes into some lightning fast hardcore music. The singing reminds me of Ray Cappo of Youth of Today but sounds ten times faster & more pissed off. It’s kind of hard to understand what he’s screaming about. This recording has a rough & raw sound and most of the songs barely makes it over a minute or two long. Only the first track goes to 4 minutes and half of that is some slow, boring instrumental intro. I hate when bands like this put instrumental tracks on their CDs because it’s filler and most people will skip over them anyway. There’s maybe only a few tracks I didn’t mind but the rest of this is forgettable.

Bottom Line: Most songs sound the same to me
Notable Tracks: Vagrant, Overcast
