7-track EP from this noise band. The band is beginning to tap into some interesting sounds, but doesn’t know what to do with them.

For instance, “Bone/Sleep” has a good herky-jerky noise-dance vibe, reminding me a little of the Polysics, but is somehow boring. The next one starts off interesting with a repeating banjo riff, but goes nowhere with it. Same thing with “From the Eighteen Hundreds”, which has an 8-bit Casio riff but doesn’t build on it. And so forth.

Noise can be a good way to explore unconventional sounds, but if the songwriting isn’t there, there’s not much point.
