I’m not so sure what to think of Icewagon Flu. They have a sound that mixes rock, irish folk, blues and alt-country. I’ll be quite honest, the music doesn’t really sound that good to me…or maybe the style of music that they play isn’t my style? This album was recorded live at Grisly Labs in Jersey City, NJ of last year. The songs get better as the CD goes along, because the first few songs I wasn’t liking at all. I think the band sounds the best when they play the folk/irish stuff, but when they start rapping or playing blues rock, it doesn’t really sound right. The band is trying too hard to be like Black 47 I think (Not a fan of Black 47 by the way!), where they should just try to play one set style of music. I gave the CD a few listens but I only liked a few songs. Perhaps others will think differently than I do. I’m curious what the band will sound like on their next album though.

Bottom Line: Album started off shaky for me but got better towards the middle.
Notable Tracks: Liza was Rejected, Wild Irish, Killer in a Mirror.
