Soundtrack to the Golden Globe nominated movie and as it turns out this score. Jan A.P. Kaczmarek (Unfaithful, Lost Souls) has composed one of his finest scores, and helps create a musical tone that is filled with emotion, passion and tragedy. The Story of “Peter Pan” author, J.M. Barrie, is about how he came up with this masterpiece, his inspirations, and some of the heartbreaks that occured in his life. The score is so peaceful, and a treat to listen to on its own. Unfortunately, I have yet to see Finding Neverland in theaters, so I’m not sure how it plays out with the movie. I have heard from others that it is a perfect combination with the movie, coming in when the time is right. Several themes emerge from this score like the main titles “Where Is Mr Barrie,” featuring the Brompton Oratory School Choir, do a fantastic job and help create a sweeping emotional suite. Their are slight variations on that theme, one solely with a piano which sounds beautiful, others with an orchestra.

Bottom Line: One of the best scores of the year. Go, listen, and enjoy
Notable Tracks: “Where Is Mr. Barrie?” “Neverland- Piano Variation in Blue,” “Children Arrive.”
