The Lions Rampant have promise – good energy, competent ability to play stripped-down garage rock, and a love for ROCK N ROLL (it’s right there in the album title!). But the songs are all so very, very standard. I could list all the bands they sound like, but I don’t want my fingers going numb.

These guys could be really good if they didn’t phone in lyrics and repetitive riffing. They also need some more distortion and bite – outside of the occasional solo, the guitarwork is insipid.

The world needs Rock N Roll more than ever, but that doesn’t mean we should settle on just any band who claims to love the Rock. C’mon, Lions. Roar!
