I like that they describe themselves as “Hot Water Maiden,” as they combine 80s metal riffing with punk beats and emo singing. Unfortunately, their metal riffing, punk beats, and emo singing are all inept.

They have the sound of a just-formed high school band, and I’d cut them some slack if that were the case, but they’ve been together for five years. This level of sloppiness and dullness is inexcusable.

They’re not without potential, especially as their moderate punk pace ties together well the metal and emo components. But they really need to sit down and hammer out the songwriting and execution before committing it to tape.
