First The Business had an album filled with football songs, now it’s Mark Foggo’s turn. Mark Foggo has been doing ska music since the 80’s, so the man has been in the scene for quite a long time! It’s nice to see him and his Skasters still doing music, even though this album is only an EP. But i’m sure we’ll be hearing more music from that ska pig in the future!

“Footy” starts the album off and it’s basically Foggo explaining the rules of the game and how to play. I like the singing part but when he starts to talk in it, the song gets annoying. The other songs are a lot better I think, particularly “Offside” and “Substitute.” “Substitute” is a cover of the Who, but i’m not really a fan of the Who to know anything about that song. I’m sure some of the lyrics were changed and the song was made into a ska tune. Hey, I can’t like every band okay, I just think The Who are extremely overrated. *Ducks for cover* Ok, still with me? Each song is about one aspect of the sport, so I guess this is a ska football concept album? Mark Foggo’s vocals are still very strong, and the Skasters sound great. I really like the keys in each song, but the overall sound is just as good. If you’re a fan of ska, and a fan of football (soccer for us Yanks); then you’ll enjoy this new EP from Mark Foggo and the Skasters!

Bottom Line: Entertaining football concept album from Mark Foggo!
Notable Tracks: Offside, Substitute, Let’s Talk Tactics
