It’s one thing to sound pretty much exactly like Coldplay. It’s another thing to not be able to write songs to maintain interest. Melee are just about as generic as every other pop-rock band that sound overproduced and completely artificial. The songs aren’t very good, and there is absolutely nothing separating these guys from, say, about 2300 other bands trying to make it right now. Do you ever wonder why the music industry is failing? Because they’re signing lame and uninventive bands like Melee while genuinely talented people can’t catch even the slightest break.

Bottom Line: Radio pop dreck.
