Film score elitist can bash Media Ventures all they want but I like when they release albums like this! If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it! I don’t care if they are 50 additional composers on this project because it still works on film and works alone on CD. The score is filled with swashbuckling action packed cues that make the scenes in the movie very exciting. Klaus Badelt has been very busy lately, since he seems to be the only Media Venture composer out there right now composing. He has combined a lot of previous scores into this score like Equilibrium, K19 The Widowmaker, Time Machine and stuff from Hans Zimmer like Gladiator & Black Hawk Down. I think without this type of score, the movie wouldn’t have worked so well. I mean Johnny Depp is the movie but there is little elements to making a movie work and a film score is one of them. I’ve listened to this score so many times since it has been released and any film score fan will enjoy this the way I did.

Bottom Line: Yeah I definitely think so. Especially for film score beginners. Sort of like how Gladiator’s soundt
