Pretentious indie rock, but a guilty pleasure. They’re trying a bit hard to be arty, but the music IS very melodic with clean, single-note guitar picking. I also dig the super high-pitched girly vox which made me pop a boner – too bad it’s a dude.

The album slows down midway and never recovers its footing, but the first half has a handful of superior indie/art-pop tunes. Fans of Sunny Day Real Estate should take note.
