Lulling lo-fi tricked me; after two minutes, the album exploded in wild post-hardcore. What’s interesting is that the guitars maintain a slow, brightly resounding note-by-note sound while the singer goes apenuts and the drums go jazzy-spazzy. Kind of gives it a sophisticated but powerful touch that’s often missing from the dime-a-dozen post-hardcore bands that rely on dissonance and distortion.

Good execution with no overacted toughness to get across ferocity. What more can you ask for from this genre?
