An album of covers and extra material from the End Transmission sessions, Bright Flashes is still pretty damn good, if studio friendly.
I like all the weird bloops and bleeps and additional programming, and I wish more hardcore bands would diversify their sound as well as Snapcase.
Interesting covers on this album – a couple of Devo covers, plus Jane’s Addiction and Helmet. The Jane’s Addiction is very apropos – I always thought that Daryl Taberski sounds like a hardcore Perry Farrell. They both have that high-end, intense vocal style and wind tunnel delivery. Also check out originals “New Academy” and “Makeshift Tourniquet”.
