Hailing from Minneapolis, MN, The Soviettes consists mostly of females except one dude. Power pop punk that is straight up fast and catchy as hell. I think I hear a little of The Donnas in there, but The Soviettes kick their ass in my opinion. Plus the record sounds like it was a lot of fun to make and that their live show is equally exciting. Believe it or not, this record is not one repetitious 14 track album, but each song is rockin’ and different from the next. Ranging from the typical topics on pop punk records like love and getting dumped, not to mention American’s being complete turds, The Soviettes put together a strong release with their debut on Fat. Can’t wait to hear more from them.

Bottom Line: Fun, catchy and sure to please, The Soviettes rock their frozen Minnesotan asses off
Notable Tracks: Thinking of You, Middle of the Night, Multiply and Divide,Photograph
