This Swedish duo take the recent Strokes sound and weirds it up a bit. Imagine a Strokes clone where the cloning process took place in someone’s dark cellar using blunt and rusty instruments.

Not that I’m complaining. The Strokes are decent in my book, and Spoonfork taps into the sound pretty well. I guess it depends on your threshold for flat, fuzzy, garagey indie rock, some of which goes on for a very, very long time (there are 7- and 9-minute tracks on here). Certainly this album would benefit greatly from less excessiveness and more rockitude, but then there’d be nothing to differentiate them from the Strokes.
