A very interesting release that combines a number of different, but retro, elements – rockabilly, folk rock, McPunk, swamp rock, and 70s rock. It’s like the Pogues, the Nekromantix, and Blue Oyster Cult thrown together.

The vocals’ swaggering qualities are sometimes distracting, but the songs are peppy, driven and concise, so there’s not much time to complain about any shortcomings. It’s a consistently strong, fun album, but check out “Corner of My Eye,” “Nightshade Sweats,” and the creepily bouncy a la Tom Waits “This Poison.”
