The Banner Year hail from Austin Texas and have a melodic punk/emo sound. There’s not a whole lot to talk about with this album. They opened up for such bands like The Roots, Riddlin’ Kids and Say What and sing about the usual stuff (relationships, addictions, politics). There’s a few catchy songs on here like “Greyscale” and “Daylight Robbery.” But other than that, The Banner Year are too whiny and I feel like just the poseurs in Hot Topic would like this band the most.
