The Tossers are a Celtic/folk rock band from Chitown (with heavy influences on punk as well) and I believe this is their 3rd or 4th release. I found a few tracks of them at emusic.com or mp3.com and really liked them. I’ve been on a Irish kick of late and getting a bunch of Irish music, new and old and I’m happy The Tossers came out with a new album when I’m having this Irish kick. The Tossers combine traditional elements (tin whistle, banjo, fiddle, and accordion) with punk rock and it works really well. The first track “With the North Wind” gets things started off well and they demonstrate what they are all about. If there is a band that sounds anything like the Tossers it’s probably Flogging Molly but I think The Tossers have a heavier sound. You can definitely hear their influences in their music (The Pogues, Clancy Brothers, The Dubliners) and each song sounds different. My only complaint with the Tossers is the singers’ voice sometimes gets irritating to me. But overall, I recommend this to Celtic punk/rock fans! Definitely check this band out.

Bottom Line: Great Celtic band from Chicago with intelligent political songs, but they also know how to have some
