Sixth release from this power-pop punk band hailing from San Diego, “Here’s to the Mourning” shows how the band keeps progressing in style and overall as a group. That can be both a good or bad thing. While I find the songs to be catchy, and fun each album sounds different. After many listens, “Elva”, their record from 2002 really grew on including their radio hit “Seein’ Red,” and this album is pretty close to that album. With many listens, this record could definitely grow on you. It’s hard to compare their sound from 10 years ago when production qualities were limited, but Unwritten Law really has evolved over the years.

Bottom Line: Strong record with some really catchy songs, and with repeat
