V for Vendetta avoids the clunkiness and/or boredom that plagues math rock bands. In fact, they’re so melodic and interesting, I think “prog indie” is a better-suiting term.

Rhythmically and structurally complex, they’re similar to Hovercraft and Turing Machine and they even remind me of later Primus. And what makes them even cooler is the good female vox. Mask does have many layers that are worth revealing with multiple listens.

Bottom Line: A very interesting and cool-sounding math rock album.
