When I think of “Voltage” as a band name, I think of simplistic but swaggering AC/DC-style rock n’ roll. Therefore the first song – a glockenspiel chamber ditty similar to the stuff on FZ’s Francesco Zappa – threw me off. It was cute, but weird coming from a band named Voltage.

The tunes that follow are more in the rock vein, but simplistic, if pretentious, math rock. And simplistic math rock to me is just recording a boring jam session. I would’ve actually preferred a whole album of the cute, quirky chamber ditties.
