Ah, back to the really terrible band names – and I thought I was done with them. Seriously, are there no good band names left? Why would any group, especially one who want to be taken seriously, pick such a stupid name?

But that aside, I was pleasantly surprised that despite the terrible name, these guys don’t suck. At all. In fact, this is one of the best punk albums I’ve heard in a while. Taking cues from early Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, as well as pretty much every street punk band, the Witches With Dicks play very simple, catchy street punk that seems perfect for drinking, fighting, and shouting the choruses with every other sweaty dude in the room. It seems like there’s more than one singer, although they all have the right type of raspy, punk-as-fuck vocal sound, and it’s perfect for the music. The shitty ass pop-punk bands these days could take a cue from a band like this – back up vocals in punk rock music should not be harmonies – they should be everyone singing and/or barking at the same time. If as a singer in a punk band, you can’t speak for the week after playing a concert, then you’re playing the right music. Unless you play screamo. Because then you should be jailed.

Bottom Line: Bad band name. Great music.
Notable Tracks: Fuck All Lindseys, How To Cook For 40 Humans (Simpsons reference! Yes!), It’s Not Me It’s You
